Group Head – Business Development Manager

About the role

The Group Head of Business Development will drive the company’s growth by shaping and executing strategic initiatives across the insurance brokerage market. Reporting to senior leadership, this role will lead a high‑performing team to expand client relationships and revenue streams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives.
• Lead, manage, and mentor the Business Development team to achieve agreed targets.
• Drive new business acquisition, client retention, and revenue growth.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, brokers, insurers, and strategic partners.
• Identify and convert new market opportunities within the insurance industry.
• Work closely with management and other departments to develop innovative products and market opportunities.

Required profile

• 8–10 years proven experience in the Insurance Brokerage industry.
• ACIIN (Associate, Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria) professional certification (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated track record in business development, sales, client acquisition, and revenue generation within insurance brokerage.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities to build and motivate high‑performing teams.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Nigerian insurance brokerage market and industry dynamics.
