Group Chief Technology Officer

About the role

Ark Capital seeks an experienced Group Chief Technology Officer to define and execute technology strategy across the group and its portfolio companies. The role combines high‑level leadership with hands‑on engineering involvement to build a rapid product‑development laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technology strategy and execution for Ark Capital and relevant portfolio firms, setting engineering priorities, timelines and standards.
• Identify and remove bottlenecks in engineering teams, intervening directly when needed.
• Recruit, structure, mentor and manage high‑performing technology teams.
• Build a product development system that moves ideas to MVPs, testing, iteration and scaling quickly.
• Maintain oversight of system architecture, infrastructure, security, APIs, AI, blockchain and backend systems.
• Provide technical leadership for AI, machine‑learning, blockchain, smart contracts, quantitative trading infrastructure and related financial models.
• Establish engineering KPIs, conduct architecture and code reviews, and enforce documentation and security standards.

Required profile

• Significant senior technology leadership experience (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering or technical founder).
• Proven full‑stack engineering background with ability to review production systems.
• Track record of building technology products from zero to market and managing multiple engineering teams.
• Strong commercial judgment with focus on delivering business outcomes.

Required skills

• Backend engineering and cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP or equivalent).
• DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and scalable infrastructure.
• APIs, databases and cybersecurity best practices.
• Artificial intelligence / machine‑learning engineering.
• Blockchain engineering, smart contracts and distributed systems.
• Quantitative finance, algorithmic trading and data pipelines.
