Graduate Student – Research Support (Full‑time)

About the role

The Graduate Student position at United Purpose is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Calabar, Nigeria. You will support program teams by conducting research, collecting and analysing data, and helping to document community‑led development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in gathering primary and secondary data for development initiatives.
• Analyse data and prepare clear reports, presentations and case studies.
• Document project activities and contribute to learning materials.
• Collaborate with field staff, partners and community members during workshops and engagement events.
• Provide administrative support, maintain accurate records and help organise field visits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Economics or related field.
• Strong research, analytical and written communication abilities.
• Interest in international development, social justice and poverty reduction.
• Ability to work in multicultural teams and engage respectfully with communities.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools).
