About the role
The Governance Coordinator will support the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Nigeria Program by strengthening governance structures, building institutional capacity, and fostering collaboration among key stakeholders involved in protected‑area management.
Key responsibilities
- Lead initiatives to improve governance frameworks for protected areas across Nigeria.
- Facilitate coordination between government agencies, local communities, and WCS partners.
- Develop and deliver capacity‑building workshops and training materials for staff and partners.
- Monitor and report on governance performance indicators and compliance.
- Support the integration of conservation objectives with local livelihood and WASH programs.
Required profile
- Minimum of 1 month relevant experience in governance, institutional development, or conservation program support.
- Strong understanding of protected‑area management and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, multi‑disciplinary environment.
