General Manager (Operations) – COO Level – Energy & Power

About the role

The Energy & Power client in Lekki, Lagos is seeking a seasoned General Manager (Operations) to act as Chief Operating Officer. The role provides strategic leadership, drives the company’s vision, and converts assets into revenue through innovative business solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead staff and align leadership with the company’s strategic plan.
• Collaborate with the CEO, CFO and executive team to achieve operational and financial targets.
• Partner with the CFO on sales, profitability, cash flow, M&A, reporting and controls.
• Set realistic growth and performance goals and develop measurement tools.
• Prepare accurate operational reports and communicate growth strategies.
• Work with C‑level peers on budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation.
• Design and implement operational processes, internal infrastructure, reporting systems and policies.
• Motivate employees at all levels and foster a growth‑oriented environment.
• Build strategic partnerships with clients, vendors, banks and investors.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in a senior operations role (GM, COO, Head of Business, Operations Manager) within the Nigerian Energy & Power sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or a related discipline.
• MBA or advanced degree in Engineering Technology, Business or a related field is preferred.
