Gastrointestinal Surgeon and Endoscopist

About the role

The Gastrointestinal Surgeon and Endoscopist is a highly skilled specialist responsible for diagnosing, surgically treating, and endoscopically managing a wide range of gastrointestinal disorders, including cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, and bleeding.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, gastroenterologists, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to deliver coordinated GI care.
• Develop and implement strategies to expand GI surgical and endoscopic services, optimizing patient pathways and reducing wait times.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, lead audits, quality‑improvement initiatives, and participate in governance meetings.
• Conduct pre‑operative assessments, surgical planning, and post‑operative care for patients with complex GI conditions.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS, MD, DO or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency/fellowship in General Surgery or a relevant surgical specialty with board certification or eligibility.
• Valid medical license to practice surgery in the home country.

Required skills

• Endoscopic procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy).
• Complex gastrointestinal surgical techniques.
