Wigwe University is seeking a distinguished scholar to join its Department of Communication and Digital Media Studies as a full‑time Professor of Mass Communication. The role involves teaching, research, and leadership within a vibrant academic community.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering television, radio, print, digital media, film studies, advertising, public relations, development communication, and strategic communication.
• Mentor junior academics and provide proactive leadership across communication and digital media programs.
• Enhance the university’s brand through scholarly activities, research collaborations, and strategic intellectual engagements.
• Guide and support students in their academic and professional development.
• Contribute to departmental, college, and university initiatives, including committee work and policy formulation.

Required profile

• Current rank of Professor with a PhD in Mass Communication and at least twelve years of full‑time post‑qualification teaching and research experience.
• Demonstrated academic leadership evidenced by a strong publication record, successful acquisition of competitive research funding, and experience in faculty mentorship.
• Active participation on academic boards and involvement in college‑level policy development.
