Food/Catering Supervisor

About the role

The African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja is seeking a Food/Catering Supervisor to oversee daily food preparation and service for patients, staff and visitors, ensuring high quality, nutritional standards and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee meal preparation and service to patients, staff and visitors, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to dietary requirements.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining records of temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
• Supervise and train kitchen and catering staff, coordinate schedules, and monitor performance to ensure high‑quality service.
• Manage inventory of food supplies and equipment, coordinate procurement, and ensure proper storage and waste minimisation.
• Act as liaison between the catering team and healthcare staff, communicating dietary needs and reporting operational issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food Science, Nutrition or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in food service or catering management, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
• Knowledge of dietary needs for medical conditions and food safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced healthcare environment with strong attention to detail.
