Financial Control Supervisor

About the role

Oilserv Limited is seeking a Financial Control Supervisor to lead its finance team in Port Harcourt. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, compliance with IFRS/GAAP, and day‑to‑day oversight of accounting processes using SAP.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and present financial information to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Ensure all reports comply with GAAP or IFRS and meet regulatory and management requirements.
• Manage period‑end closure, produce management reports and periodic financial statements for external reporting.
• Oversee daily review of SAP‑generated reports to confirm they reflect actual transactions.
• Supervise accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, bank reconciliation, inventory, payroll, tax and cost control.
• Monitor budget implementation and generate monthly performance reports.
• Apply Expected Credit Loss models under IFRS 9 and prepare lease schedules in line with IFRS 16.
• Compute capital allowances, corporate income tax, deferred tax, VAT and withholding tax.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial reporting and period‑end processes.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 9, IFRS 16 and GAAP compliance.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP finance modules.
• Ability to supervise and develop accounting staff.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on accuracy and regulatory adherence.
