Finance Officer – Procurement

About the role

Dangote Cement Plc is looking for a motivated Finance Officer to join its Procurement team. The role combines financial oversight with supplier management to support smart purchasing decisions and ensure high‑quality inputs for cement production.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect received goods in coordination with plant stores and report any deviations from specifications.
• Identify procurement needs, research and evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability and price.
• Negotiate contracts and manage purchase orders within budget constraints.
• Track orders, ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that arise.
• Maintain strategic relationships with distributors and key suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Assess procurement risks and implement mitigation measures.
• Analyse procurement data to uncover cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement decisions with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is an advantage.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in finance or procurement.
• Strong understanding of the cement manufacturing industry and related regulations.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Proficiency with SAP and other accounting packages.
• Competent use of MS Office tools, especially Excel.
