Farm Manager

About the role

The Farm Manager will take direct ownership of daily livestock operations, ensuring optimal feeding, health, and productivity of the goat herd while leading the farm team on site.

Key responsibilities

• Design and enforce daily schedules for feeding, breeding, kidding, weaning, pasture work, cleaning and sanitation.
• Supervise department leads, attendants, field workers, security staff and contractors, assigning work, inspecting results and coaching for performance.
• Maintain accurate livestock records covering feeding, health observations, treatments, births, deaths, breeding, movements and inventory use.
• Oversee pasture and crop activities such as forage establishment, harvesting, weed control, irrigation and grazing plans.
• Inspect farm infrastructure and equipment, schedule preventive maintenance and manage repairs or replacements.
• Enforce biosecurity, health and safety standards and ensure compliance with SOPs and animal‑handling procedures.
• Prepare operational plans, budgets, purchase requests and management reports; support long‑term planning and expansion.
• Coordinate external contractors, veterinary support, suppliers and service providers, controlling scope, cost, quality and timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine or related field, or HND in Animal Sciences.
• At least three years (36 months) of proven farm management experience.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial planning and livestock care.
• Familiarity with agricultural equipment, technology and pasture/forage management.
• Excellent organizational, planning, reporting and record‑keeping abilities.
