Farm Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Farm Manager to lead commercial crop production on our farm in Marina, Ebonyi. The role involves overseeing all farm operations, managing staff, and ensuring optimal yields while maintaining safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and supervise daily farm activities including land preparation, planting, irrigation, spraying, fertilisation, weed control, harvesting and post‑harvest handling.
• Monitor field productivity, crop health and implement agronomic best practices to optimise yields.
• Supervise supervisors, field operators, machine operators and casual labour; recruit, train, discipline and motivate staff.
• Develop and manage pest, disease and weed control programmes and coordinate soil fertility and nutrient management.
• Oversee machinery such as tractors, sprayers and irrigation systems; schedule maintenance and control input usage.
• Maintain accurate records of operations, labour, yields, inputs and expenses; prepare weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Ensure compliance with farm safety procedures, environmental standards and promote good agricultural practices.

Required profile

• HND in agriculture, agronomy, crop science, agricultural engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience managing commercial crop farming operations.
• Proven ability to lead large‑scale field production and staff teams.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, record‑keeping and operational reporting.
• Willingness to live and work on the farm full‑time.
