Farm Development & Agronomy Manager

About the role

Tolcrest Global Ltd is looking for a Farm Development & Agronomy Manager to plan and run a commercial farm near Ido LGA, Ibadan. The role covers farm development, crop production, farm management and commercial growth, with the expectation of living close to the farm and supervising on site.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise farm development, land preparation, irrigation, infrastructure and crop production.
• Cultivate habanero pepper, ginger, sweet potato, plantain and selected vegetables according to technical and commercial viability.
• Oversee farm workers, contractors, procurement, budgeting and resource allocation.
• Develop operational plans, monitor progress and submit accurate weekly and monthly management reports.
• Maintain good relations with host communities, resolve local disputes and manage stakeholder engagements.
• Identify and support agricultural financing through BOA, BOI, commercial banks and agricultural funding programmes.
• Build commercial partnerships, find revenue opportunities and improve farm productivity and profitability.
• Ensure accountability, cost control and timely execution of farm activities.

Required profile

• HND in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of practical experience in commercial farming, farm development or agricultural operations management.
• Demonstrated experience in crop production, irrigation systems, farm budgeting, procurement and operational supervision.
• Strong reporting, planning, problem-solving, negotiation and community conflict-resolution skills.
• Commercial awareness of agricultural financing, market opportunities and farm profitability.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and deliver measurable results with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to live close to the farm in Ido LGA, Ibadan, and stay on site consistently.
