Engineering Manager – Pharmaceutical Plant

About the role

Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc. is looking for an Engineering Manager in Lagos to lead the engineering and maintenance function. The role ensures that plant equipment, utilities and infrastructure perform reliably and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and regulatory requirements, supporting uninterrupted production, continuous improvement and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run preventive and corrective maintenance programmes, keeping equipment up and running and managing calibration and validation of critical equipment.
• Oversee utilities such as HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air, water and power, ensuring they meet pharmaceutical standards and monitoring energy use.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with NAFDAC requirements and WHO GMP guidelines, support internal, regulatory and client audits and close CAPAs on time, and keep SOPs, logs and maintenance records.
• Lead capital projects including installation, commissioning and qualification of new equipment, and drive lean manufacturing and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain HSE compliance, conduct risk assessments and enforce safe work practices.
• Lead and develop the engineering team, manage performance evaluations and training, and control the engineering budget, maintenance costs and vendor contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering; Master's degree is an advantage.
• 8-12 years of engineering or maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or FMCG manufacturing environment.
• At least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, project management and communication skills, with integrity and ownership.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GMP, validation and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical utilities and systems.
