Electrical Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial facilities across Abuja and Rivers State. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient operation of machinery and supporting the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment in industrial settings.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and diagrams.
• Install and maintain electrical control systems for industrial machinery.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers, mechanics and other technicians on projects and repairs.
• Provide training and guidance to apprentices and junior electricians.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and manage inventory of electrical supplies.

Required profile

• Trade Test Certificate or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with electrical systems in industrial environments.
• Completed apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Licensing and certification as an electrician.

Required skills

• Interpretation of electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Installation and maintenance of industrial electrical control systems.
• Use of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic PLC programming and control system knowledge (plus).
