Electrical Technician – Cement Production

About the role

The Electrical Technician will ensure the reliable operation of all electrical and instrumentation equipment in a cement production environment, executing predictive and preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain availability of electrical and instrumentation assets for continuous production.
• Execute predictive and preventive maintenance schedules and follow health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Coordinate and supervise third‑party contractors and work with the Lead Engineer on work‑plan execution.
• Optimize energy use in clinker production and cement mills while ensuring plant safety and environmental compliance (ISO 14001).

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a modern integrated cement or large‑scale industrial setting.
• Trade Test 3 – Mechanical, NABTEB or City & Guilds qualification.
• Ability to work under pressure with little or no supervision.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ABB and Siemens Variable Frequency/Speed Drives.
• Knowledge of medium and low voltage electric motors and their applications.
• Familiarity with ABB switch‑gears.
• Understanding of 11 kV/400 V power distribution panels and motor centres.
• Experience with cement‑industry instrumentation and control systems.
