Education Programme Officer – EU Project (Jigawa, Nigeria)

About the role

The Education Programme Officer will support the Education Programme Coordinator in delivering the EU‑INTPA education project across Kano and Jigawa states. The role involves operational and technical assistance to ensure activities are implemented in line with donor requirements and local needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and implementing the EU‑INTPA project, including community mapping and identification of schools and learning centres.
• Support the development of detailed implementation plans and contribute to baseline, needs and market assessments.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, collect monitoring data and track output indicators.
• Facilitate relationships with community leaders, government officials and partners to ensure buy‑in and adherence to Do No Harm principles.
• Support planning and coordination of state and LGA level engagements with education authorities and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to timely and quality narrative and technical reporting as required by the consortium lead.

Required profile

• Experience in coordinating education programmes or projects in a humanitarian or development context.
• Familiarity with donor reporting requirements and community‑based education initiatives.
• Ability to work closely with diverse stakeholders, including community and religious leaders.
• Willingness to comply with Child Safeguarding Level 3 requirements.
