Drill Stem Testing (DST) Operations Engineer

About the role

The Drill Stem Testing (DST) Operations Engineer will join JMD Training & Consultants to lead planning, coordination and supervision of DST activities for training and consulting projects. Based primarily in Port Harcourt with occasional visits to Lagos, the role blends field operations, technical analysis and mentorship of trainees in a safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, procure and prepare DST equipment for multimillion‑dollar projects.
• Design, review and update DST programmes and technical procedures.
• Supervise on‑site DST operations, ensuring compliance with HSE and environmental standards.
• Analyze well‑test data, interpret results and produce detailed technical reports and presentations.
• Troubleshoot DST equipment and procedures during field operations.
• Liaise with clients, geoscientists, reservoir engineers and internal teams to define project requirements.
• Contribute technical content to training materials, case studies and classroom sessions.
• Mentor trainees, support practical sessions and promote continuous improvement of operational best practices.

Required profile

• Full‑time, on‑site position based in Port Harcourt with occasional travel to Lagos.
• Strong commitment to HSE policies and ability to ensure contractor compliance.
• Experience in DST or well‑testing operations within the oil & gas sector.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• IWCF certification is mandatory.
