About the role

The Director of News will lead and oversee the newsroom, ensuring the production of accurate, timely, and engaging news content across multiple platforms. Reporting to senior management, the role combines editorial leadership with strategic planning to drive audience growth and brand reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive content and broadcasting strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Manage a team of journalists, producers, and editors, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and recruitment.
• Oversee daily news production, story assignment, newsgathering, and editorial review to guarantee quality and compliance.
• Analyze content performance metrics and audience data to refine distribution channels and editorial focus.
• Ensure adherence to journalistic ethics, legal standards, and brand guidelines while protecting sensitive data.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 10‑12 years of experience in media, journalism or related sectors, preferably within telecommunications or media communications.
• Proven track record in leading large editorial teams and managing multi‑platform news operations.
• Strong understanding of journalistic ethics, data journalism techniques, and digital transformation.
