Dialysis Nurse – Provide Quality Patient Care

About the role

The Dialysis Nurse provides high‑quality care to patients undergoing hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. Working under the supervision of a medical doctor, the nurse ensures safe treatment delivery, monitors patient condition, and coordinates with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Check and record patients’ vital signs before, during, and after dialysis sessions.
• Administer hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments accurately.
• Monitor patients throughout treatment to detect and respond to adverse reactions.
• Prepare and update individualized nursing care plans.
• Notify the appropriate medical practitioner promptly of any problems that arise.
• Collaborate with dialysis technicians to set up and maintain dialysis machines and equipment.
• Refer patients to dieticians, social workers, or vascular access centers as needed.
• Educate patients and families on home dialysis operation, treatment options, kidney disease management, nutrition, and exercise.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in nursing.
• Valid state nursing license.
• Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is advantageous.
• Proven experience working as a dialysis nurse.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and observation abilities.
