Diagnostic Radiographer – CT Simulation Specialist

About the role

The Diagnostic Radiographer will work in the Radiotherapy Department, performing CT simulations and ensuring accurate patient positioning for radiation treatment planning. This role supports oncologists and medical physicists to deliver safe, high‑quality radiotherapy.

Key responsibilities

• Perform CT simulations for radiotherapy planning, positioning patients using immobilisation devices such as masks and vac‑bags.
• Maintain imaging quality by setting up the CT simulator, reviewing images, and documenting any required adjustments.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists and radiation therapists to transfer imaging data and verify treatment plans.
• Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed, including shielding, dose monitoring and equipment calibration.
• Provide clear communication and support to patients throughout the imaging process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiography (therapeutic focus) and registration with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in therapeutic radiography, preferably in brachytherapy or linear accelerator environments.
• Advanced certification or post‑basic training in oncology radiography is preferred.

Required skills

• CT simulation techniques and treatment planning protocols.
• Operation of radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators.
• Use of patient immobilisation devices for reproducible positioning.
• Radiation safety procedures and dose monitoring.
