Design Operations Lead

About the role

Jobberman is looking for a Design Operations Lead to run its remote team of four designers. The goal is to turn every customer design request into accurate, production-ready packaging artwork quickly, consistently and without mistakes. The role is hands-on: you will coach the team and improve workflows, while also reviewing complex artwork and stepping into design production when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Identify bottlenecks and repetitive work, then build smarter workflows, systems, automations and AI-supported processes that make the team faster and easier to scale.
• Create structure, clarity and accountability across the remote Design team through planning, feedback, performance follow-up and individual development.
• Maintain a high quality bar by reviewing complex customer artwork and catching issues before they reach customers or production.
• Represent Design across the company and improve collaboration with colleagues along the customer and production journey.
• Step into customer design production when needed, from reviewing and correcting artwork in Illustrator to supporting the team during busy periods.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in graphic design, pre-press, packaging, print production or a similar production-focused field.
• Experience producing, reviewing and correcting production-ready artwork for professional print, including improving low-quality customer files.
• Experience in high-volume, deadline-driven environments and improving workflows, ideally with automation or AI.
• Proven leadership or coordination experience with designers or production workflows, and comfort owning a small remote team while staying hands-on.

Required skills

• Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills.
• Deep understanding of professional print preparation: vector graphics, CMYK, spot colors and production artwork.

What we offer

• Salary of $2,000 - $2,700, Monday to Friday, with a working schedule within 1-2 hours of CET.
• 6 weeks of paid time off per year, pay during sick days and generous paid parental leave.
• Overtime is generally not expected; if required, it is fully compensated.
