Design Engineer – Renewable Energy Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer to join our renewable energy engineering team in Lagos. You will be responsible for creating detailed designs for solar PV and associated electrical infrastructure across commercial and industrial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed engineering drawings, single‑line diagrams, equipment layouts, cable routing and construction drawings for solar PV systems.
• Develop site layouts and perform solar energy yield assessments using industry‑standard software.
• Support system sizing, equipment selection and preparation of bill of quantities, material take‑offs and inventory mapping.
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement and site engineers to ensure designs are practical, cost‑effective and compliant.
• Review technical specifications, contractor submissions and ensure compliance with engineering standards and local regulations.
• Optimize designs for performance, constructibility and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of design engineering experience in renewable energy, power or infrastructure sectors.
• Proven experience designing solar PV systems from concept through detailed engineering.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, construction methodologies and relevant standards.
