Debt Financing Solutions Senior Transactor

About the role

RMB Nigeria is seeking a senior transactor to lead Debt Financing Solutions (DFS) across West Africa. The role combines entrepreneurial drive with deep expertise in corporate term lending and debt capital markets to expand the bank’s investment banking business.

Key responsibilities

• Originate, structure and implement bespoke term‑lending solutions for sovereigns, SOEs, supranational, financial institutions, multinationals and large local corporates.
• Leverage coverage teams, credit analysts, and IBD heads in Nigeria, South Africa and London to deliver transactions.
• Provide credit‑rating advisory and manage bond‑listing requirements in Nigeria and Ghana.
• Develop strategic relationships with identified key clients and coordinate with coverage personnel.
• Secure internal approvals, lead negotiations and close transactions.
• Add value through credit‑risk insight, mitigate transaction risks and ensure compliance with multi‑jurisdictional documentation.
• Monitor deals post‑closure and mentor junior transactors.
• Cross‑sell other bank products and manage internal stakeholder relationships.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of deal‑making experience in corporate and structured finance.
• Prior experience on transactions in Nigeria is advantageous.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree; ACCA, CFA or MBA considered a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build lasting client relationships.
