Credit Officer – South West (Abeokuta, Nigeria)

About the role

Lendha, a fintech focused on credit solutions for African SMEs, is seeking a Credit Officer for its South West operations. You will lead debt‑collection activities, support loan portfolio growth, and promote Lendha’s products to businesses across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end debt collection processes and develop payment plans in line with company policy.
• Maintain accurate client records, assess past‑due accounts and determine appropriate collection actions.
• Contact delinquent customers via phone, email and on‑site visits to recover outstanding balances.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on collection performance and accounts receivable status.
• Report progress to supervisors, recommend next steps and handle write‑offs where necessary.
• Present and sell Lendha’s credit products to existing and prospective clients in e‑commerce, consumer goods, healthcare and financial services.
• Support loan evaluation by ensuring proper credit appraisals and monitoring of accounts.
• Review contract terms, communicate payment options and collaborate with other departments to balance client and company needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in any discipline with NYSC discharge or exclusion letter.
• Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills.
• Motivation to work in a performance‑based environment and willingness to conduct field work.
• Practical knowledge of micro, small and medium enterprises; familiarity with the micro‑finance sector is a plus.
• Must reside in Abeokuta and possess good knowledge of the local territory.
