About the role

Kenex Konsults International is seeking a dedicated Cook to join its kitchen team in Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will prepare a variety of meals, maintain high food quality standards, and support smooth kitchen operations in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved recipes and menu plans.
• Ensure timely service while maintaining taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Manage proper storage, labeling, and handling of all food items.
• Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and help minimise waste.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations before and after use.
• Assist in menu planning and introduce new meal ideas when required.
• Receive and inspect food deliveries for quality and freshness.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Address customer or management feedback professionally and implement improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum SSCE/WAEC qualification; culinary certification is a plus.
• At least two years of proven experience as a cook in a restaurant, hotel, or catering setting.
• Physical fitness to stand for long periods and handle kitchen duties.
• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, time‑management, and ability to work under pressure.
• Team‑oriented attitude with good communication skills.
