Consultant Migration Health Nurse (G5) – Part‑time

About the role

The Migration Health Assessment Clinic (MHAC) in Lagos needs a qualified nurse to deliver daily clinical services that meet the technical requirements of resettlement countries. You will work directly with migrants and refugees, ensuring accurate health assessments, documentation, and follow‑up care throughout the migration process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical examinations, including vital signs, visual acuity, weight and height measurements.
• Collect and handle blood, urine, sputum and other samples for laboratory testing.
• Administer vaccinations and manage TB screening and treatment.
• Perform pre‑departure medical procedures, documentation, certification and information transmission.
• Maintain MHAC pharmacy stock, medical and emergency kits, and ensure proper sample transport.
• Provide counseling on TB and HIV prevention and management.
• Prepare administrative reports and support mobile mission planning.
• Act as a medical escort to ensure continuity of care before, during and after migration.
• Collaborate with internal IOM departments, panel physicians, embassies, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Collect and share statistical data with senior health staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid nursing license to practice in Nigeria.
• Minimum 36 months of relevant nursing experience.
• Ability to follow SOPs, maintain universal precautions and handle documentation accurately.
