Consultant Gynaecologist – HIFU & Women's Health Services

About the role

The organisation is a leading fertility and women’s health institution in Nigeria, operating a dedicated Fibroid Care Centre that offers High‑Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for uterine fibroids. The Consultant Gynaecologist will lead specialist clinical care, focusing on HIFU and minimally invasive treatments, and will undergo a fully funded, three‑phase training programme.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct specialist consultations, assessments and follow‑up reviews for women with fibroids and other gynaecological conditions.
• Perform and supervise HIFU procedures in line with clinical protocols and patient‑safety standards.
• Evaluate candidates for HIFU and other minimally invasive interventions, reviewing imaging, labs and histories with a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide patient education, counselling and manage pre‑ and post‑procedure care pathways.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records.
• Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, morbidity meetings and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree with specialist qualification in gynaecology (consultant level).
• Experience managing uterine fibroids and familiarity with minimally invasive techniques.
• Willingness to complete a three‑phase training programme, including an intensive HIFU training stint in China.
• Commitment to a three‑year service bond after training.
• Ability to work across Lagos, Abuja and Asaba locations.
