Conference Volunteer

About the role

The Herald Conference is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support its upcoming event in Ibadan. This on‑site, part‑time role offers a hands‑on experience in event operations while contributing to a vibrant professional community.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with event setup and breakdown, ensuring venues are ready for each session.
• Manage attendee registration, check‑in, and badge distribution.
• Guide participants to session rooms, activity areas, and provide schedule information.
• Help control crowd flow and maintain a welcoming environment throughout the conference.
• Support speakers and organizers with logistical needs, such as material handling and equipment setup.
• Coordinate communication between volunteer teams and assist with on‑site problem solving.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Organizational and time‑management skills for fast‑paced event periods.
• Customer‑service mindset and calm problem‑resolution approach.
• Team‑oriented attitude with reliability and punctuality.
• Availability on‑site in Ibadan for the full duration of the conference and key preparation times.
• Comfort using basic technology such as smartphones and registration tools.
• Previous experience in events, hospitality, or community service is a plus.
