Collections Agent

About the role

Moniepoint, an all-in-one financial services platform for emerging markets, is hiring a Collections Agent for its Lekki Phase 1 office (onsite). The role manages delinquent loan accounts and recovers outstanding payments through structured customer engagement across approved communication channels, focusing on early-stage and mid-stage arrears. It is an outsourced position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of delinquent loan accounts and follow up on overdue payments.
• Contact customers via approved channels to negotiate repayment and secure commitments.
• Document interactions, agreements and case updates accurately in the system.
• Monitor and follow up on Promise-to-Pay commitments to ensure conversion and reduce rollovers.
• Escalate high-risk or unresolved accounts according to internal policies.
• Meet daily, weekly and monthly recovery and productivity targets.
• Comply with regulatory guidelines, call frequency rules and internal collections policies.

Required profile

• 1-2 years' experience in loan collections, credit control or call center operations (preferred).
• Preferred candidate must live around Lekki Phase 1.
• Customer-focused, professional and resilient under pressure; good attention to detail.

Required skills

• Strong negotiation, persuasion and objection-handling skills.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with CRM, loan management or call management systems is desirable.
• Ability to follow structured workflows and operating procedures.
