Clinical/Health Informatics Consultant

About the role

Helium Health is seeking a Clinical/Health Informatics Consultant to review clinical data capture and workflows within HeliumOS. The consultant will collaborate with product, data, public health and engineering teams to assess existing clinical forms and data‑entry processes and provide actionable recommendations for platform optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Review clinical forms, data fields and data‑entry workflows within the EMR.
• Assess data capture across key stages of the patient journey.
• Identify opportunities to improve structure and standardisation of clinical data.
• Evaluate the balance between structured fields and free‑text documentation and propose appropriate approaches.
• Recommend relevant clinical terminology, classifications and coding standards.
• Ensure recommendations align with practical clinical workflows and minimise documentation burden.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to validate and prioritise recommendations.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) or other relevant clinical qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experience with EMR/EHR systems, clinical informatics or clinical data management.
• Strong understanding of clinical documentation, healthcare workflows and data quality.
• Experience designing or reviewing clinical forms and structured health datasets.
• Familiarity with multi‑facility health information systems, preferably in Nigeria or other African settings.

Required skills

• Knowledge of clinical terminology and coding standards such as ICD‑10, SNOMED CT, LOINC, HL7/FHIR.
• Hands‑on experience with EMR/EHR platforms and data‑entry optimisation.
