Class Teacher – Primary School

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate class teacher to join St James the Great Roman Catholic Primary and Nursery School from September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver a well‑mapped curriculum, support the Catholic ethos and contribute to a thriving learning community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess lessons across the curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
• Establish productive relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share best practice and contribute to whole‑school initiatives.
• Promote and uphold the Catholic ethos throughout school life.

Required profile

• Good understanding of current educational policies and practices.
• Ability to relate effectively to children and adults.
• Strong organisational, initiative and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent oral, written and numerical communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children.

Required skills

• Proficient use of IT for lesson planning and assessment.
