Chinese Translator – Retail Operations (Lagos)

About the role

This full‑time, on‑site position supports MINISO’s retail operations in Lagos by providing real‑time Mandarin‑English translation and interpretation. The translator will enable clear communication between Chinese expatriates and local staff, ensuring business documents, meetings and daily instructions are accurately conveyed.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business documents, SOPs, reports and procedure manuals between Chinese and English.
• Provide simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during team meetings, inventory checks, training sessions and daily work instructions.
• Assist local staff and Chinese management with retail‑operations communication.
• Help enforce company SOPs, safety guidelines and employee deliverables in both languages.
• Act as a cultural bridge to minimise misunderstandings and foster a collaborative workplace.
• Perform additional operations‑support and coordination tasks as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND (or equivalent).
• 1–3 years experience as a Chinese‑English translator in a corporate environment.
• Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and English with strong interpretation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced team.
