Chinese Kitchen Assistant

About the role

Join NJZC International Construction as a Chinese Kitchen Assistant, preparing authentic Chinese meals for staff in a busy manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir‑fries, braised items, soups, and steamed foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• Plan weekly menus that reflect regional Chinese styles while meeting dietary needs of expatriate staff.
• Maintain high hygiene and sanitation standards across all kitchen areas and equipment.
• Monitor inventory of specialty seasonings, fresh produce and dry goods, coordinating with procurement to minimise waste.
• Supervise kitchen helpers, manage meal distribution aligned with shift rotations, and ensure safe operation of kitchen equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a kitchen assistant or cook specializing in authentic Chinese cuisine, preferably in corporate or industrial canteens.
• Functional Mandarin communication skills; basic English is a plus.
• Ability to handle high‑volume meal service within structured manufacturing shift hours.

Required skills

• Wok technique and stir‑fry cooking.
• Steaming, braising and sauce preparation.
• Butchery of meats for Chinese dishes.
• Food safety and sanitation knowledge.
