Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Healthcare

About the role

The organization is a fast‑growing healthcare group operating multiple facilities across Nigeria. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Chief Operating Officer will lead all non‑clinical functions, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance and sustainable growth across the network.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the group’s vision and long‑term objectives.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of all healthcare sites, standardising processes and improving productivity.
• Implement systems for remote management of multiple locations from a central hub.
• Monitor performance metrics, conduct regular site reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead quality‑assurance programmes, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
• Manage non‑clinical administration, including personnel, facilities, equipment, procurement, logistics and inventory.
• Support staff onboarding, certification and professional development programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of experience in senior operations leadership, preferably within healthcare.
• Proven track record of managing multi‑site operations and delivering measurable efficiency gains.
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, quality standards and accreditation processes.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical and decision‑making abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and drive organisational transformation.
