Chief of Staff

About the role

The Chief of Staff will lead operational governance, regulatory compliance, and strategic execution for a fast‑growing paint and plastic manufacturing plant. Reporting directly to the Director, you will drive performance metrics, oversee joint‑venture initiatives, and ensure flawless cross‑functional alignment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver the Friday Operations Dashboard covering production, waste, OEE, downtime, sales and cash flow, with zero missed submissions.
• Establish 5S protocols, SOPs and safety governance across two‑shift operations to eliminate unscheduled downtime.
• Lead regulatory filings with SON, DPR, NAFDAC and manage product registration for industrial and marine coatings.
• Drive JV proposal follow‑ups and execute the first three commercial paint production runs.
• Partner with the Operations Manager to reduce plant waste below 3% and raise OEE above 75%.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Engineering, Applied Sciences, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on plant or operations management experience in plastic manufacturing, paint processing, FMCG or packaging.
• Proven ability to read production logs, analyse machine utilisation and enforce strict SOPs on a multi‑shift factory floor.
• Strong executive presentation skills, high emotional intelligence and experience handling sensitive matters such as payroll and disciplinary actions.

Required skills

• Advanced data analysis and dashboarding using Excel and Google Sheets.
• Project and workflow management tools such as Asana and Notion.
• Operational metrics expertise – OEE optimisation, waste reduction, 5S implementation.
• Regulatory compliance knowledge for SON, DPR and NAFDAC licensing processes.
