CEO/Managing Director – Rubber Plantation

About the role

The CEO/Managing Director will lead a rubber plantation operation in Ogun State, Nigeria, providing strategic direction, operational oversight, and financial stewardship. The role is pivotal in turning around the business, strengthening governance, and securing capital for sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a turnaround strategy to address operational inefficiencies, workforce challenges, and structural gaps.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, cost optimisation, and revenue‑growth initiatives.
• Drive capital‑raising efforts with banks, investors, and development finance institutions.
• Establish a clear organisational structure, reporting lines and robust corporate‑governance practices.
• Develop HR frameworks for performance management, succession planning and talent development.
• Build a high‑performing leadership team, enhance employee engagement and foster a culture of accountability.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Board, management, employees, financial institutions and external stakeholders.
• Identify, assess and mitigate operational, financial and reputational risks while ensuring compliance with legal and environmental standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience providing strategic leadership and managing business turnarounds.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost optimisation and capital raising.
• Demonstrated ability to strengthen corporate governance and build effective organisational structures.
• Experience leading HR initiatives, talent development and succession planning.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of representing the organisation at Board, regulatory and investor forums.
• Ability to identify and mitigate operational, financial and reputational risks.
