Capacity Manager

About the role

Standard Bank Group is looking for a Capacity Manager in Lagos. The role covers the planning, analysis and optimisation of capacity infrastructure (storage, networks, midrange and mainframe) so that business needs are met in a scheduled way at a reasonable cost.

Key responsibilities

• Provide background and trend analysis to estimate future capacity requirements.
• Manage capacity issues and take preventive steps by analysing incidents and problems.
• Drive optimisation of capacity utilisation through analysis and efficiency initiatives.
• Define capacity and performance monitoring and alert thresholds based on service designs.
• Create, define, perform and maintain capacity plans for specified products and services.
• Deliver capacity reports and metrics supporting capacity management and other functions.
• Perform both IT component/resource-level and IT service-level capacity planning.

Required profile

• BSc in Information Management Technology, Computer Science, Statistics/Mathematics or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience as a capacity planner, hands-on system engineer, performance analyst and/or information system modeller on relevant platforms.
• Demonstrated experience using capacity planning tools and statistical analysis to characterise capacity usage and forecast requirements.

Required skills

• Relevant infrastructure platform-specific certification.
• Relevant capacity management tool certification.
• ITIL Foundation V3/V4 is an added advantage.
• Technical competencies include incident and problem management, root cause analysis, infrastructure and platform support, and service management processes.
