CAD & 3D Modeling Instructor for Youth Programs

About the role

IDMANN Academy seeks a skilled instructor to teach computer‑aided design (CAD), 2D and 3D modeling to elementary and secondary students through its online High Achievers' Camp. The role combines hands‑on modeling guidance with a capstone project where students design and 3D‑print a functional item.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver live, online lessons on 2D (AutoCAD, LibreCAD) and 3D (SketchUp, Blender, Autodesk) modeling tools.
• Guide small groups of students through the complete design‑to‑print workflow, including STL file creation and 3D printing.
• Support a capstone project that culminates in a printable prototype.
• Maintain alignment with Common Core standards and adapt content for gifted or special‑needs learners.
• Provide feedback, track progress, and ensure a supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience or strong interest in early‑childhood or secondary education (teaching certification and >2 years classroom experience preferred).
• Ability to work 10‑15 hours per week in a remote, online setting.
• Familiarity with Common Core standards and online teaching platforms.
• Reliable computer equipment and stable internet connection.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD or LibreCAD (2D modeling).
• Proficiency with SketchUp, Blender, Autodesk or similar 3D modeling and animation tools.
• Experience creating and manipulating STL files for 3D printing.
• Knowledge of 3D‑printing software; industrial additive manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Background in mechatronics or robotics is an advantage.
