Cabinet Design Architect

About the role

Castville Solutions is seeking a Cabinet Design Architect to create detailed cabinet and millwork solutions for residential and commercial projects. The role combines client interaction, design development, and close collaboration with production teams to ensure designs are both aesthetically compelling and manufacturable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 2D/3D cabinet designs, renderings and mood boards from client briefs, architectural drawings or interior concepts.
• Produce detailed shop drawings, cut lists, cabinet schedules and CNC‑ready nesting files using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Mozaik or PolyBoard.
• Conduct or review site measurements to verify spatial fit and advise clients on materials, finishes and hardware within budget.
• Coordinate with production and quality control to confirm manufacturability, review prototypes and update designs based on feedback.
• Maintain a library of standard cabinet modules and ensure design documentation is accurate in the ERP system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in cabinet, furniture or millwork design, preferably in a CNC manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of MDF, plywood and particleboard tolerances and joinery methods.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and ability to read architectural and interior design drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) and cabinet‑specific design tools (Mozaik, PolyBoard).
• Ability to generate CNC‑ready nesting files and specifications.
• Knowledge of wood‑based panel materials and their manufacturing tolerances.
