Buying & Merchandising Manager

About the role

The Buying & Merchandising Manager will lead the development and execution of seasonal buying and merchandise strategies for a fast‑moving retail and fashion business. Reporting to senior commercial leadership, you will ensure product assortments, inventory levels and pricing drive sales growth while protecting profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop seasonal buying and merchandise plans aligned with business objectives, market trends and customer demand.
• Lead demand forecasting, open‑to‑buy planning and product lifecycle management.
• Monitor sales trends, inventory movement and product performance to identify commercial opportunities and risks.
• Design allocation and replenishment strategies across stores, franchises and e‑commerce platforms.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, commercial and store teams to ensure timely product distribution and optimal stock availability.
• Create pricing, promotional and markdown strategies that balance sales growth with profitability.
• Analyse sales and inventory data to generate actionable insights for strategic planning.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 8 years of experience in buying, merchandising or category management, preferably in retail, fashion or FMCG.
• Proven track record of delivering profitable merchandise plans and managing inventory across multiple channels.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into commercial decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and lead initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
