Buy and Sell Specialist – E‑waste Materials

About the role

The Buy and Sell Specialist will support iRECYCLE-Malaysia’s research and commercial activities by sourcing, purchasing, and selling e‑waste materials and related recyclables. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Abakaliki and works closely with research, operations, and finance teams to ensure a sustainable supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage suppliers and buyers of e‑waste and recyclable materials.
• Negotiate prices, contracts, and terms in line with project goals.
• Coordinate logistics, transport, and inventory management for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Ensure all transactions comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, sales, and inventory.
• Prepare basic procurement and sales reports for internal stakeholders.
• Contribute ideas to improve market outreach and supply‑chain efficiency.

Required profile

• Experience in buying and selling goods, preferably recyclables or industrial materials.
• Familiarity with supplier and customer relationship management.
• Understanding of waste‑management, recycling, or e‑waste concepts is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors, buyers, and internal teams.
