Business Manager – Diagnostic Services

About the role

The Business Manager – Diagnostic Services will lead operational efficiency, patient flow and compliance for the Diagnostic Directorate of the African Medical Centre of Excellence in Abuja. Reporting to the Clinical Director and COO, the role also serves as the secretariat for directorate governance.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize scheduling, resource allocation and equipment utilization to improve patient throughput in imaging and laboratory services.
• Monitor and enhance patient flow from referral to reporting, implementing real‑time data tracking and dashboards.
• Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, accreditation standards (JCI, national bodies) through regular audits and SOP enforcement.
• Lead Kaizen and Lean Six Sigma initiatives, conduct Gemba walks and drive continuous improvement projects.
• Act as secretariat for directorate meetings, preparing agendas, minutes and coordinating cross‑departmental reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s (preferred) or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
• 5–7 years of experience in hospital operations or diagnostic service management, with proven Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen implementation.
• Experience in governance support, committee documentation and stakeholder coordination.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
