Business Head – Interstate Transport Operations

About the role
Sage Transport Limited is looking for a commercially‑savvy Business Head to launch and scale its interstate transport operations, starting with the South‑Western corridor. The role carries full strategic and operational ownership, from market entry to long‑term expansion.
Key responsibilities
- Define and drive the vision, strategy and market positioning for interstate transport.
- Lead market entry for priority corridors and identify scalable growth opportunities such as new routes, B2B partnerships and ancillary services.
- Own full P&L accountability, develop revenue models, pricing strategies and cost structures, and oversee budgeting and forecasting.
- Design and implement scalable operating models covering fleet management, scheduling, dispatch, route optimisation and asset utilisation.
- Establish service standards for safety, punctuality and comfort, and monitor customer satisfaction and brand perception.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local transport regulations, manage licensing, insurance and safety certifications.
- Build and lead a high‑performing operations and commercial team, set KPIs and foster a culture of discipline, integrity and safety.
Required profile
- Proven leadership experience in transport or logistics with deep industry expertise.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage full P&L responsibility.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and execute strategic growth plans.
- Experience in building and managing high‑performing teams.
- Ability to navigate regulatory environments and manage operational risk.
