Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will drive funding and partnership opportunities for Crossect Development Services. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to identify, research, and secure grants, tenders, and consultancy projects that align with the organization’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and track grants, tenders, RFPs, and expressions of interest across donor and procurement portals.
• Research potential donors, development partners, and business opportunities to build a robust pipeline.
• Support the preparation of concept notes, technical proposals, and full grant applications.
• Coordinate proposal development, ensuring timelines, budgets, and documentation are met.
• Maintain databases of proposals, outcomes, and upcoming deadlines.
• Assist in creating capability statements, organizational profiles, and other business development materials.
• Help develop partnerships and identify potential consortium and implementation partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, International Development, Communications, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 2–5 years of experience in grants, business development, proposal writing, fundraising, consultancy, or project management.
• Proven experience developing concept notes, expressions of interest, or grant applications.
• Strong understanding of donor‑funded projects and the international development sector.
