Business Development Officer

About the role

The Business Development Officer will build and manage a high‑net‑worth (HNI) and retail deposit portfolio for a banking institution in Lagos. The role focuses on acquiring new clients, maintaining relationships, and supporting the company’s growth targets.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a combined HNI and retail deposit portfolio in line with concentration and diversification guidelines.
• Identify prospective clients, convert them into business partnerships, and ensure high client satisfaction and retention.
• Manage client investment portfolios and relationships, providing regular updates and insights.
• Prepare weekly call memos and progress reports on clients, prospects, and activities.
• Implement approved marketing strategies to achieve deposit portfolio budget.
• Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the brand and meet potential clients.
• Stay updated on financial market trends and interest rates, offering valuable insights to clients and management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management, Administration, or a related discipline.
• 3–4 years of experience in a similar finance role.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fund mobilization targets.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• Self‑driven and result‑oriented.
