Building Project Manager – Abuja

About the role

ActionAid Nigeria is seeking an experienced Building Project Manager to lead the design, planning and delivery of a major construction project in Abuja. Reporting directly to the Country Director, you will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, external architects and engineers to ensure the project is completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑create detailed project plans with clear milestones, tasks and timelines.
• Identify and mitigate risks such as budget constraints or supplier delays.
• Manage the approved budget, allocate resources and track expenditures.
• Provide regular progress updates to the Board, General Assembly Building Committee and other stakeholders.
• Control changes in scope, schedule and cost using appropriate verification techniques.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including BOQs, site surveys and design drawings.
• Ensure contractor compliance with security, safety and industry regulations.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Building Technology.
• Certified Project Manager.
• Minimum 10 years post‑NYSC experience leading complex building or civil‑engineering projects.
• Proven experience with project‑management systems and tools.
• Experience working with diverse cultures and nationalities.
• Member of relevant professional bodies.
