Backend Engineer – International Payments (Laravel)

About the role

HelloMe Money is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join its cross‑border FinTech team. You will design, develop, and maintain the core backend systems that power international payment services, digital wallets, remittance, virtual accounts and foreign‑exchange platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable Laravel/PHP applications.
• Build and manage RESTful APIs and micro‑services for cross‑border payment processing.
• Integrate with global payment rails such as SWIFT, SEPA, Fedwire, TARGET2, FPS, ACH, EFT and Open Banking.
• Ensure high availability, security and performance of payment processing systems.
• Optimize database queries, system architecture and application performance.
• Document technical designs, API specifications and maintain clean code standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing backend solutions in Laravel and PHP.
• Strong understanding of international payment networks and banking integrations.
• Ability to work collaboratively with product, compliance, operations, finance, QA and DevOps teams.
• Commitment to delivering secure, compliant and scalable financial services.
