AutoCAD Engineer – Mechanical Design (Construction)

About the role

I&M Limited is looking for a detail‑oriented AutoCAD Engineer to support mechanical design work within the construction sector. The successful candidate will translate engineering concepts into accurate 2D and 3D drawings that meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and maintain detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD.
• Produce construction, fabrication, and mechanical design drawings in line with project requirements.
• Interpret engineering sketches, design concepts, and technical specifications into precise CAD outputs.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy.
• Revise drawings based on technical reviews, client feedback, and project changes.
• Ensure compliance with engineering codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
• Maintain organized drawing documentation and version control.
• Conduct drawing reviews to identify and resolve design conflicts before construction or fabrication.
• Support project planning by preparing layouts, sections, elevations, and detailed component drawings.
• Assist in developing drafting standards and improving design workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, Engineering Design, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in AutoCAD drafting within construction, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, engineering standards, and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
