Associate/Full Professor – Computer Science & Related Fields

About the role

The School of Information Technology & Computing at the American University of Nigeria seeks an Associate or Full Professor to lead teaching, research, and community service initiatives, preparing students to become critical thinkers and problem solvers.

Key responsibilities

• Teaching and supporting student learning, including ensuring class attendance, completing assignments, and providing academic advising throughout the semester.
• Participating in department and school meetings, as well as attending faculty, college, and other academic functions.
• Engaging in research activities that promote self‑development and contribute to the university’s scholarly output.
• Supervising undergraduate, master’s and PhD students in research projects and dissertations.
• Contributing to university community service and development activities.
• Collaborating with the Dean to formulate and implement effective course structures.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or Cybersecurity from a reputable university.
• Minimum nine (9) years of university teaching, research, post‑doctoral or relevant industry experience post‑PhD.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic, research or administrative activities and a record of scholarly publications in reputable journals.
• Experience supervising undergraduate, master’s and PhD students.
• Proficiency in the use of ICT tools and e‑resources for teaching and research.
